Techno festival September 2026: France and Spain picks

September tips the two countries in opposite directions: Ibiza closes its season while France restarts its clubs. Twelve dates to arbitrate your weekends, from Brunch Electronik in Lyon and the Zénith of Nantes to the Resistance closing at Amnesia and Heave in Guadalajara.

🇫🇷 France: the season restarts

French festivals in September are not trying to stretch the summer out, they open the autumn: city parks, industrial sites, two days rather than five, and tickets that stay under 60 €. Six dates tell the whole month.

Lyon and Lille, the same weekend of the 12th and 13th

Two festivals seven hundred kilometres apart, on exactly the same days. Brunch Electronik takes Grand Parc Miribel Jonage with Nico Moreno, I Hate Models and SPFDJ, from 39 €. Le Jardin Électronique holds the Lomme park on the edge of Lille with Kölsch, Agoria and Joris Voorn, 35 to 60 €. One hits hard, the other plays melodic: you pick on sound, not on schedule.

Paris runs the two longest nights of the month

That same Saturday, the capital brings out the heavy stuff: twenty-four straight hours at FVTVR with yoyaku and SlapFunk (Ellen Allien, Dr. Rubinstein, Margaret Dygas), and three years of GRÜV in a warehouse kept secret with Chlär and RUIZ OSC1. Two formats the regions do not offer, and two nights that overlap, so you choose.

Nantes turns nine, on the 12th

Still that 12 September, Macadam blows out its ninth candle with RONI and a live set from Nadia Struiwigh. Free before 22:30 at the door, the cheapest way into anything in this guide, at a club that opens the year the way it ends it.

Holy Priest moves into the Zénith, on the 18th

A week later, The Holy Shit Show takes over Zénith Nantes Métropole. It is more than one more date: French hard techno rarely lands an arena outside festival season, and the same show was touring the Roman theatre of Vienne this summer.

The end of the month, between Lyon and Marseille

The last weekend plays out in the south-east: Hard Queens #3 north of Lyon, thirteen artists and an all-female lineup across two rooms, then Utopia Tome VI at Friche Belle de Mai in Marseille, three days to close the month. Two moods, two cities, one train between them.

🇪🇸 Spain: Ibiza switches off, the mainland switches on

On the Spanish side the month reads in two halves. The island puts out its last big bills and closes, while Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona reopen their seasons. The contrast is sharp enough that the two halves of the country tell different stories.

Blackworks on the F1 circuit, on the 11th

Seven years of Blackworks on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló. An open air from 17:00 to 05:00 on a Formula 1 track, Nico Moreno on top, from 32 €. The setting is half the appeal, and the rest of the lineup has yet to drop.

The two closings that matter, on the 16th and 23rd

Amnesia shuts the fifth Resistance season on the 16th, with Adam Beyer having held nine Wednesdays out of nine, and I Hate Models booked against type on a Drumcode night. A week on, Cocoon wraps its own at 528 with Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin and DJ Hell, 16:00 to 06:00. After that, the island empties.

Madrid and Valencia reopen, on the 18th and 19th

Two nights running, the mainland restarts: Ben Sims and Oscar Mulero at The Bassement in Madrid on the Friday, then Valencia's Barraca, which calls its reopening "Rentrée" and hands the Main Room to Colin Benders' modular live. Thirty euros on one side, a historic club on the other.

Heave, 25 to 27

The same weekend as Utopia in Marseille: Heave sets three days down in the Guadalajara countryside, 18:00 Friday to 10:00 Sunday, seventeen names curated by three collectives, hypnotic in direction. If you want the exact opposite of a month in Ibiza, it is there.

The full detail of both months, country by country, sits in the dedicated editions.

📅 Every techno event this September, France and Spain

This combined edition stops at twelve dates. The list below carries every September techno event on calrave across both countries, and grows as we add more.
