Techno festival August 2026: the best in France and Spain

Twelve dates to settle your August 2026 weekends between France and Spain: ESKAPE or Dreambeach to open the month, Ratz against Brunch Electronik, then the big 15 August clash between Aquasella, Medusa, POSITIV and Resonance. Hard-leaning picks from both countries, with the full month list at the foot of the page.

Contents

🇫🇷 France: six dates that shape the month

August in France reads like a build-up: a heavy opening, a monumental mid-month, a closing stretch that hits. Six dates are enough to draw the map.

ESKAPE, 31 July to 2 August (Normandy)

The only place this month where Dutch hardcore (Angerfist, Mad Dog) and Europe's harder techno (Rebekah, I Hate Models) share one estate for three days. If your August starts loud, it starts here.

Ratz, 7 to 9 August (Marseille)

Secret location, contained crowd, and unapologetic crate-digging: Marco Shuttle and Onur Özer out in the Marseille scrubland. It is the exact opposite of the XXL festival, and on that weekend, that is precisely the point.

Organïk XXL, Saturday 8 August (Paris)

The Paris hard daytime of the month: the Vincennes racecourse from 2pm, hardcore and industrial into the night, entry at 24 €. It slots easily into a weekend spent up north, while Marseille and Barcelona fight over the south.

POSITIV, 14 to 16 August (Orange)

The one ticket this month where the setting competes with the headliner: a Roman amphitheatre, Charlotte de Witte on Saturday night, Boris Brejcha the day before. Between 49.50 and 132 €, with a capacity the monument itself dictates.

Resonance, 14 to 16 August (Basque Country)

Forty artists, zero international headliners, a sound system set on the hills of Urrugne, a few kilometres from the border. If you are based on the Spanish side, it is the most reachable French pick of the calendar: the Basque scene from both slopes meets there.

Nantes Rave Techno XXL, 28 August (Nantes)

The last big French kick before September: schranz, hardcore and uptempo at the Warehouse, with tiers starting at 13 €. The cheapest and most radical way out of the month on this list.

🇪🇸 Spain: six dates, four climates

Spain in August alternates Asturian hills, Valencian beach, Andalusian sand and city clubs. The thread never changes: hard music, chosen.

Aquasella, 13 to 16 August (Asturias)

Thirty years old this year, and a bill that still refuses filler: Robert Hood, DVS1, Kobosil and b2bs you will not find anywhere else. The techno pilgrimage of mid-month, deep in the northern green.

Brunch Electronik, 7 to 9 August (Barcelona)

Three days facing the sea at Parc del Fòrum, with Jeff Mills and Floating Points as centrepieces. The direct rival to Ratz on the same weekend: opposite mood, daytime format, and a bill that runs the whole spectrum from hard to deep.

Medusa Sunbeach, 13 to 17 August (Cullera)

The Valencian giant, best taken through its techno and hardstyle stages: Adam Beyer and Sara Landry on one side, Angerfist and Wildstylez on the other. Five days that overlap exactly with Aquasella, POSITIV and Resonance: this is the big 15 August clash.

Dreambeach, 31 July and 1 August (Vélez-Málaga)

The month's other opener, mirroring Eskape: two days in the sand, including a stage curated by Madrid crew Blackworks. Nico Moreno and SNTS for the hard end, from 49 €. Normandy or Andalusia, you will have to choose from night one.

Pyramid: Hawtin + Kraviz, 2 August (Ibiza)

One single Ibiza night makes this combined edition, the densest one: Richie Hawtin and Nina Kraviz together at Amnesia, Fatima Hajji in support. The texture-versus-chaos stretch that justifies the trip to the island.

Pastis & Buenri, 22 August (Barcelona)

Two Valencian legends, crates of makina vinyl, one full night at Nitsa. Nothing in France sounds like this in August: it is the most identity-driven pick of the Spanish selection.

📅 Every event of the month, both sides

Twelve dates to weigh up, one border to play with. The country-by-country detail lives in the French August agenda and the Spanish August agenda; to widen the net, there is every event in France, every event in Spain and the current month's page. And if you are already looking past August, our top summer 2026 festivals sweeps the whole season. The list below carries the full August of both countries, and grows as new events land.
