Techno festivals and raves in France: August 2026 guide

From ESKAPE in Normandy to Charlotte de Witte at the Roman theatre of Orange, twelve hand-picked techno and hard techno dates for August 2026 in France: Organïk XXL in Vincennes, Ratz in Marseille, Resonance in the Basque Country, plus the full month's list at the foot of the page.

🎪 The August techno festivals in France

Seven festivals carry the month, from a huge hardcore crossover in Normandy to a Basque sound system gathering. We picked them by hand: every date below is worth the trip, and the rest of the month sits in the list at the foot of the page.

ESKAPE Festival, 31 July to 2 August

ESKAPE Festival kicks the month off at Domaine de Montilly in Normandy: three days, two main stages and more than 80 artists across hardcore, hardstyle and hard techno. Angerfist, Sub Zero Project, Mad Dog and Radical Redemption on the heavy-kick side; I Hate Models, Rebekah and Novah for the harder end of techno. If you miss Rebekah there, she plays Paris again on 29 August for Roar by Pisica.

Ratz Festival, 7 to 9 August

Three days of demanding techno at a secret location near Marseille. The Ratz lineup stays tight, fourteen artists, and commits to a deep direction: Marco Shuttle, Onur Özer, Fasme, Margaux Gazur. The anti-big-machine of this August. Over-18s only, tickets on RA.

Fort Décibel, 7 and 8 August

Two days of acid and psytrance inside Fort Médoc, a UNESCO-listed Vauban fortification half an hour from Bordeaux. Popof brings the French acid techno pedigree, Tristan and Captain Hook hold the psy side, Jacidorex and Pawlowski the new wave. Twenty-three artists, not one more: the setting is half the ticket.

Organïk XXL Summer Edition, 8 August

After a record-sized November 2025 edition (5,000 m², 360° stage), the Organïk collective returns to the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes, from 2pm. Hardcore, hard techno and industrial on the menu; the first announced names line up AniMe, Alycia Bezgo, 6EJOU, BLK., Gonzi and Teksa. Entry from 24 €, and it will fill up.

POSITIV Festival, 14 to 16 August

Three nights of techno inside the Théâtre Antique d'Orange, a first-century Roman monument. POSITIV books Boris Brejcha on Friday, Charlotte de Witte on Saturday and FISHER on Sunday. If you are coming for the techno, aim for Saturday the 15th. Tickets run 49.50 to 132 € depending on how many days, and capacity is limited by the site: do not sleep on it.

Resonance Festival, 14 to 16 August

Same weekend, other end of the spectrum: Resonance sets up its sound system at Bixikenea, on the hills of Urrugne in the Basque Country. Forty names, zero international headliners, a programme that is 100% local and alternative scene: Hemka, Belaria, 4000 Hz, the Tesseract sound system. The exact counter-programme to POSITIV, and that is a compliment.

Electrolapse, 21 and 22 August

Sixth edition in the Drôme, three stages and around fifty artists. NTO tops the bill on the melodic side, Amber Broos and Marie Vaunt harden the sound, Dr. Peacock covers the psy end. Plenty of emerging French acts between the headliners, which is deliberate, and exactly what keeps the programme unpredictable. Entry from 50 €.

On the club and rave side, the month does not let up: five dates to keep, from the acid open air on 1 August to the end-of-month closings.

🎧 Club nights and raves: the rest of the month

ORKA: T78 and A*S*Y*S, 1 August

Kilomètre25's open-air floor opens the month with ORKA: T78 and A*S*Y*S headlining, Hortense de Beauharnais in support. Hard techno and acid trance on a summer Saturday, the Paris club's hardest line.

Function + Tommy Four Seven in Strasbourg, 8 August

Klub Camina brings Function and Tommy Four Seven together at Karmen: two marathon sets (3h30 and 3h) of hypnotic techno. Worth knowing: the pair already play together the night before at FVTVR in Paris. If you are out east, the Strasbourg date is the one with the long formats.

Chris Liebing at FVTVR, 28 August

The young Paris club lands a heavyweight: Chris Liebing, boss of the CLR label with three decades of relentless techno behind him, supported by Sept and TSIEG. A booking that says a lot about the venue's ambition.

Nantes Rave Techno XXL, 28 August

Nantes' Warehouse switches to XXL mode: thirteen artists across hard techno, schranz and hardcore, with Nikolina and Medusa up top. From 13 to 45 € depending on the tier, the most affordable range of the month.

ALARMA: SPFDJ at Virage, 29 August

SPFDJ, the Berlin-based face of fast hard techno, comes down to Virage for ALARMA, with aerodynamisme, Sukubratz and lilipop. The angriest August closing in the capital.
