Trance on calrave isn't the radio kind. It's the euphoric, hypnotic strain that belongs to the rave : long builds, rolling arpeggios, the psytrance and hard-trance branches that share a crowd with techno here. Collectives carry it across France : Paco Tyson in Nantes, Organïk in Paris, Le Coven in Lille and Son Libre in Bordeaux all fold trance into their lineups, and Madrid's wide-ranging Mondo Disko gives it room too. It rises on festival and open-air stages as well, from A Summer Story near Madrid to the Monegros desert and Lyon's summer raves.
