Mondo Disko is a Madrid techno institution : a club night that has run since 1999 and turned the capital into a stronghold for the sound. After years at Sala Cocó on Calle de Alcalá, it moved its decks to Sala But, Calle de Barceló 11, right in Malasaña, in the summer of 2025. Two floors, a loyal crowd (the "Mondo Lovers") and a line that leans techno and electro, with the breakbeat streak that drives the Mondo Open Air. Resident Gerardo Niva holds the house down, with Alba Franch among the regulars behind the booth. On the guest side, the programming owns its techno credibility (Ben Sims, Perc and the like have played here), far from mainstream EDM. Mondo is the central, tighter club, the counterpoint to Fabrik and its mega-formats out on the edge of town. In summer, Mondo spills outdoors with its Mondo Open Air sessions : daytime open-airs at Terraza Jowke in Alcorcón, carried on with an after at the club the same night. That daytime open-air into late-night after is part of the house DNA.
