About
DC-10 started in the nineties as a music bar licensed for eighty people, opened by two brothers, Deogracias and Antonio Lara Moreno. A converted finca at the end of the old airport runway, named after the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 because that is literally where it sits. In 1999 the Italian promoters Antonio Carbonaro and Andrea Pelino came in as partners and started Circoloco. Twenty-seven years later the same Monday is still running, and a room once cleared for eighty is the one every other island club is measured against.
Circoloco began as a free Monday morning after-party : doors at 06:00, when Space's twenty-four hour Sunday session ended, running through to 18:00. The clock has flipped since, Mondays now run 18:00 to 06:00, but the offset survived. By the time Amnesia opens at 23:00, DC-10 has five hours of music behind it. The club's other nights open at 23:00 like everyone else, so the daylight peak time is a Monday thing, not a house style.
The season runs May to October on two residencies : Circoloco on Mondays, Solid Grooves on Thursdays since 4 June. August delivered Dixon, The Martinez Brothers and Luciano on the 10th, Honey Dijon with Rampa, &ME and Skream on the 17th, then Âme, Chris Stussy and Seth Troxler on the 24th. Solid Grooves closes on 1 October, Circoloco on the 12th.
One thing worth knowing before you plan around it : of the nineteen dates left this season, the club has published a lineup for three. That is not lateness, it is how the room works, and the names land within the week. We track the other sixteen and publish each one the day it is announced.
