Hardgroove is techno with the swing turned up : rolling, percussive, built on looping drums rather than a hammering kick. It's the rhythmic, body-first end of the hard spectrum, less about brute force than relentless momentum. On calrave it's still a small but growing corner, anchored in Spain. In Madrid, the collective Hybrid runs a weekly residency built around the sound, and the harder festival stages give it room too, from Dreambeach on the Costa del Sol to club nights at Mondo Disko.
