The venues

Warehouse, 21 Quai des Antilles on the Île de Nantes (Hangar à Bananes area), opened in September 2017 : 2600 capacity, two rooms, a big sound system, Safe Place, and an RA ranking among the best clubs in the world. Amelie Lens, I Hate Models, Nico Moreno, Jeff Mills and Paul Kalkbrenner have all played there.

A few hundred metres away, Stereolux blends sharp electronic music and digital arts across two rooms (Maxi and Micro), a top 5 French club according to Trax in 2024. Le Ferrailleur, next door on the docks, holds the alternative electro, rock and DIY line, more underground and experimental.

The festivals

Paco Tyson returns this summer 2026 at the Station Nuage on the Île Forget : a free open-air, techno, house, trance and drum & bass, the biggest open-air dancefloor of the metro area, for its tenth year (exact dates still to confirm).

On the club side, Warehouse loads up the autumn : Evil Grimace & More with the SUBTERRA collectives on 7 August, Étienne de Crécy in Club de Jour on 26 September, La P'tite Fumée on 15 October. Beyond Paco Tyson, no other techno festival identified after 27 May.

The Île de Nantes

The whole Nantes scene sits on the Île de Nantes, a post-industrial area turned cultural hub where Warehouse, Stereolux and Le Ferrailleur live within a few hundred metres of each other. What sets Nantes apart from Paris : a stated, structured culture of backing local collectives (NRT always puts Nantes artists ahead of the big headliners), and a rare tradition of free open-air parties (Paco Tyson, 20,000 people, free entry).

The city also owns a rare hybridity : Autechre plays Le Lieu Unique in October 2026 while Warehouse programmes Evil Grimace. Nantes dates surface in the list opposite week after week.
