The venues

Le Bikini is THE room, in Ramonville since 1983 (1500 capacity, Metro B, terrace and outdoor pool) : concerts and clubbing, with Carl Cox, Jeff Mills and Paul Kalkbrenner all through, and a busy summer 2026 (Polyamor on 26 June, Organïk, Karnage Summer Club).

Le Rex de Toulouse, a converted 70s cinema, plays it intimate and sharp, makina and hard trance, home to Plein Phare. Interférence holds the mid-size with drum & bass and hard techno. Le Cri de la Mouette closes the list as a raw underground venue, the official after of the Plein Phare Festival.

The reference nights

Plein Phare Festival took over Pech David on 15 and 16 May 2026, but it's done : no other techno festival identified ahead in Toulouse after 27 May. So the scene plays out in clubs.

In summer, Le Bikini stacks dates around its pool, Le Rex runs its Plein Phare makina and hard trance nights, and Le Cri de la Mouette keeps its loyal crowd. It's a club-night scene more than a big-festival one, but it runs all year.

France's makina capital

Toulouse is France's capital of hard trance and makina, a direct legacy of the 90s Spanish clubs (Pont Aeri, Fabrik) that crossed the Pyrenees. Plein Phare is its embodiment : a collective that owns trance, acid and hard groove while Paris stays on dark techno.

The scene runs on 130,000 students and a closeness to Spain that gives it a one-of-a-kind DNA in France : makina legends like Pastis & Buenri hit Toulouse before Paris. Toulouse dates surface in the list opposite week after week.
