The venues

Le Sucre has held the rooftop of la Sucrière in Confluence since 2014 (terrace, indoor room, around 800 people), with sharp techno-house programming and the official Nuits Sonores venue from day one. Warehouse stays the underground reference : Funktion-One, industrial mood, international lineups, dark techno with no compromise.

Over in Villeurbanne, le Transbordeur (around 1500 capacity) isn't a pure club but takes the XXL electronic and techno sets the city can't fit anywhere else.

The reference nights

No techno festival ahead in Lyon for 2026 : Reperkusound (21 years old) and Nuits Sonores (23) wrapped this spring, with Reperkusound back on 26, 27 and 28 March 2027. In between, collectives and promoters carry the scene. 23:59 stacks hard techno dates (Km25, Le Fil) and Encore runs the big format.

In April 2026, Reperkusound x Blackworks filled the Halle Tony Garnier with 10,000 people : proof that Lyon does XXL without dropping its underground DNA.

France's electronic capital

Lyon claims the title of France's electronic music capital, and the numbers back it : Reperkusound is 21, Nuits Sonores 23. The scene lives in iconic city-centre spaces (la Sucrière, le Transbordeur), not on the outskirts like elsewhere.

What sets it apart from Paris : a heavy rave culture (hard techno, dub, acid) carried by solid local collectives like 23:59, and a crowd that travels for the music, not the lifestyle. Lyon dates surface in the list opposite week after week.
