Duro, Barcelona's hard techno festival in Montmeló

Duro is Catalonia's biggest hard techno festival, born in spring 2023 and now running several editions a year in Montmeló, just outside Barcelona. Open-air stages by the Circuit de Catalunya, a widening hard spectrum, and the XXL edition on 10-11 October 2026 with Kobosil, Ben Klock and Alarico.

🎚️ Who they are

Duro grew up fast. Born in spring 2023, the festival became Catalonia's biggest techno gathering in three years, to the point of running several editions a year (the April 2026 one was already the ninth). Not a club, not a monthly night : a hard techno festival format that plants its stages in the open air in Montmeló, on the edge of Barcelona. Where the Barcelona scene plays curation and rigour (Sónar, Nitsa, INPUT), Duro owns the opposite : big sound, big capacity, a hard crowd.

🔊 The sound

The name says it all. Duro means hard : hard techno as the backbone, makina as a nod to the local hard heritage, and in 2026 a new stage dedicated to hard bounce, hardgroove and hard trance. The spectrum widens toward everything that hits, without ever turning into mainstream EDM. The casting follows : Kobosil and Ben Klock from Berlin, Rooler and Krowdexx out of the rawstyle world, Alarico, Kruelty, Vendex and Toxic Machinery for pure hard techno. Where 240 km/h carries Barcelona hard techno in club format, Duro plays the open-air festival and the broad "hard" umbrella.

🏛️ The Montmeló date

Duro doesn't happen in Barcelona but in Montmeló, at Espai Can Guitet, an open-air ground wedged between Rocco's Ranch and gate 5 of the Circuit de Catalunya, the Formula 1 track. The choice is deliberate : leaving the city buys the room for three stages and sixty-odd artists, a scale no central club can match. The site stays a train ride from Barcelona, which makes it a day trip as much as a weekend destination. The autumn XXL edition is the year's biggest.

📍 Duro Festival 2026 and the agenda

The next big date is Duro Festival 2026, on 10 and 11 October in Montmeló. The first names have dropped (Kobosil, Ben Klock, Alarico, Kruelty, Rooler, Toxic Machinery, Vendex, SLVL) and the bill keeps growing toward the autumn. To follow the next dates, the collective's agenda on calrave and the Duro Instagram.
